HomeSounds:Walk Visual Art - Introduction
Friday 4th December, 2020, 3pm - 6pm
Tickets - £5
The first in a brand new series, this unique, participatory and collaborative event is intended to demonstrate the inspirational influence of environmental sound on human creativity. Here we are focusing on visual art.
Artists Alice Angus, Jasmine Farrow and Melanie Mascarenhas will be your guides for a live-streamed sound-walk, during which they will invite you to create visual art work that draws on the acoustic habitat of Pigneys Wood for its primary inspiration. The sounds are captured by a HomeSounds live-streaming microphone sited at this community nature reserve on the outskirts of North Walsham, Norfolk, cared for by the Norfolk Wildlife Trust.
On purchasing your ticket you will be invited to join a private online classroom (google account required) where ideas, images, sounds, suggestions and more will be shared by Alice, Jasmine, Melanie and fellow participants before, during and after the event. On the day of the sound-walk itself a link to the live-stream will be posted in the classroom.
This event is open to, and designed for, all ages, abilities and experience.
This ticket is for this event only and is priced at an introductory rate. Each ticket holder is entitled to access the classroom until 18th December, 2020. For reduced ticket prices on all homesounds events as well as audio downloads, early-bird offers, pre-release audio, exclusive merchandise and more, subscribe to HomeSounds on Bandcamp.
