We've put together a series of short clips recorded by the young-people that capture a little of the character of the school sound environment and what we've been hearing on our trips around the site. The enthusiasm for tuning into the sounds of our world as well as getting out and about on missions of sound discovery is truly amazing! You can listen to the audio clips by clicking this link, or following the full link below.
Whilst the school takes a break for the summer HomeSounds:Soundbites will be running two all-day field-recording workshops that are open to any young-person aged between 11 - 18. They will be taking place on;
Thursday 2nd August: 10 - 3:30pm
Thursday 30th August: 10 - 3:30pm
We will meet at City Academy and then head to our location for the day. The first of these will be the RSPB reserve at Strumpshaw Fen. The second has yet to be decided; we are open to ideas!
If you would like to take part please email firstname.lastname@example.org or follow the contact details on the HomeSounds webpage.
HomeSounds:Soundbites will be up and running again weekly in September. If you would like to take part, or would like to find out more do get in touch. The sessions are open to any young person aged between 11-18, are 2 hours long and take place on either a Tuesday or Wednesday (to be confirmed).
We hope you have a great summer and get plenty of opportunities to just listen!
